Jonathan Paul Fleming, Architect is a design practice and consultancy committed to engaging people in places and with objects of lasting quality. Design and creative works at any scale, in any medium; we make artifacts incessantly, we investigate, we research and we work to celebrate the poetic character of the act of building while embracing reality, situation and the resistance of tools and materials. A fundamental intent of the practice is to execute simple work that responds to the particularities of situation with minimal impact, while applying a deep understanding of the design circumstances and traditions that form a project's context.
Past work includes new construction, additions + alterations, and restoration. Project types include: single and multi-family residential; restaurant/bar; retail/gallery/ assembly; school and stadium facilities; small structures; master planning projects; design-build projects.
Jonathan is the former Architecture Program Director, and Graduate Coordinator of Architecture and Urban Design, and Tenured Assistant Professor, and Interim Associate Dean for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Kent State University, where he taught for 21 years.
